Sandia Road

Location:  New Mexico, Sandia Mountains, Elena Gallegos Area

During the melting snows of February, I was taken by this view on the way to my favorite trailhead in the Sandia Mountains. There was a light dusting of snow and lingering clouds during the clearing storm. The nearly-naked juniper to the right of the road, had been devastated by desert juniper and became a focal point in the vegetation.
